Who may use the app
RCIB Agent is provided by RCIB Real Estate Limited, Brokerage for its registered agents, staff and people it has invited to complete onboarding. Your account is issued by the brokerage and may be suspended or closed by the brokerage at any time, including when your registration with the brokerage ends. Using the app means you accept these terms and the privacy policy. The brokerage's policies and procedures, your independent contractor or employment agreement, and the rules of the Real Estate Council of Ontario continue to apply to everything you do in the app.
Your account
- Keep your password and your phone's unlock method private. Do not share your account with anyone.
- Tell the office right away if you think someone else has used your account or if a phone with the app on it is lost or stolen. Sign out everywhere from Settings if you can.
- Keep the app updated. Older versions may stop working when the brokerage's services change.
Acceptable use of Talk, Drive and Ask RCIB
These rules apply to messages, voice messages, calls, files, photos and anything else you share through the app.
- Use the app for brokerage business and ordinary workplace conversation.
- Do not harass, threaten, demean or discriminate against anyone. Do not send sexual, violent or hateful content.
- Do not share client personal information, financial details, identity documents or deal details with people who have no business reason to see them. Do not post information you are required to keep confidential.
- Do not upload material you do not have the right to share, and do not use the app to send spam, advertising or chain messages.
- Do not attempt to access other agents' records, to interfere with the service, or to bypass the app's controls.
- Ask RCIB gives general guidance drawn from the brokerage's knowledge base. It is not legal, tax or accounting advice. Check anything that matters with the office.
Reporting, blocking and moderation
Everything posted in Talk is visible to the people in that conversation and can be reviewed by the brokerage. To report a message, press and hold it and choose Report. To stop seeing messages from someone, open their profile or the conversation menu and choose Block; the office is told about every block. The office reviews reports within two business days, can remove content and conversations, and can suspend an account that breaks these rules. You can also reach the office at [email protected] or 416-277-9494.
Calls and location sharing
Calls are not recorded by the app. Do not record a call without the consent the law requires. Sharing your location posts your current position into the conversation once; share it only when you mean to.
Availability and changes
The app depends on the brokerage's own servers and on your phone's network. It may be unavailable during maintenance or outages. The brokerage may change or withdraw features, and may update these terms; the date at the top of this page tells you when they last changed. The app and its content are provided as they are, and the brokerage is not liable for losses that come from relying on figures shown in the app without checking them with the office. Commission and statement figures shown in the app are for information; the office's records govern.
Ending your use
You can sign out at any time, and you can ask the office to close your account from Account → Settings → Request account deletion or the account deletion page. Records the brokerage must keep under Ontario real estate law are retained even after an account is closed.
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
